 Not what I was expecting.

I searched all over looking for a step stool that was tall, and stable. I read reviews and looked at dimensions. I got this step stool today and am disappointed. The product dimensions given are not of the product but of the box. That is quite frustrating. I chose this step stool because it was supposedly 8.4 inches, and that would be a great height for our short son/tall counter top combo. But the stool is only about 5.5 inches… I am not sure that I am going to keep the stool or not. It is very stable though, and I like the design, but the green color is kinda ugly.

 Round is better than rectangular.

I used the Bijorn rectangular step stool for about a year. Then I saw this one and fell in love with 1) traction on top- these are not stuck on but, molded into the stool. The traction on top is not one solid piece across the top. His shoes and feet do not get stuck on the traction. It has also enabled my son to be able to move his feet around for better foot placement and reaching for -say the faucet to turn it on- without accidentaly tipping the stool and being “lofted” above the stool trying to find it so he can step down without hitting his chin on the basin. At the time I bought the rectangular stool there were no round ones on the market. Now, that is all I will buy.
2) the “pressure points” in three places
The rectangular ones actually only have ‘pressure” points at the ends so when my son stepped on one side it had a “tipping” on the other. He always had to hang on to the sink basin to not fall. The round is more evenly weighted so when my son steps on it-nothing happens.
3) is weight
The weight is heavier but, not so heavy a child cannot move it from say, turning on the bathroom light to moving it to the sink. The traction on the three sides prevents it from “sliding” across the floor.
I own three of these, one for each level of my house where there is a bathroom. I have the bijorn but, it does not get used. This may be more but, it is not much more and well worth the money. It is also easy to clean.

Functional and cute

I bought this to mainly help my toddler reach the sink to brush her teeth and wash her hands and eventually to use with the toilet. But she uses it for everything which is good and bad. She can just pick it up and carry it to where she wants it. She uses it to climb on the couch, get up on a chair or if she wants to “help” with her baby brother. I like the circle design a little better than rectangular designs. And the non-skid bottom is awesome. It doesn’t move once she puts it down and even when she is standing on the very edge the other side does not lift up at all. And the bumps on top help socked feet not slip.
